Stylised Facts of real Business Cycles in Mexico and Turkey

Abstract

This paper is a first attempt to investigate the stylized facts of business cycles in Mexico and Turkey using quarterly data from 1987 to 2000. The methodology used is based on Kydland and Presscott(1990). Components of the GDP will be examined for lead vs lag and pro vs counter cyclicality vis-a-vis the GDP. The results will be compared to those obtained for the G7 by Fiorito and Kollintzas (1994).
