Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify sources of export competitiveness in selected sectors of Turkish manufacturing industry by considering intensities of various inputs employed in the production of sectoral outputs relative to the abundance/scarcity of Turkish economy's endowments in those inputs. The analysis is carried out by relating competitiveness indicators to changing availability of inputs at various points in time so as to see the direction of changes in competitive position of each sector under consideration. The numerical results obtained from the analysis are then used to derive policy conclusions concerning foreign trade policies of Turkey.
